Is there one routine in your life you cannot live without? There are obviously quite a few in mine, but the one that revolves around food is getting up early on a Saturday morning and going to the Farmers Market. It all started back in Birmingham when my partner in crime and I would get in a morning workout (ok to be honest sometimes we skipped this part) and would head to the Farmers Market.
AKA Partner in Crime
The funniest thing about moving to a new city for me was after being in Indianapolis for only 3 days, the first thing I looked up is where the local Farmers Market was. During the late winter-early spring I headed downtime and now for the summer market I go to Broad Ripple. The Farmers Market has also convinced me to start a garden. I now have 5 herbs (tarragon, basil, oregano, chives, and sage) planted and they have survived for 4 months now!! Might seem like a small step but ask my parents how many times I wanted to start a garden when I was little.
All of my goodies
Can you tell we like cherry & sunburst tomatoes, eggplant, and kale at our house?
My new favorite find is the fresh pasta especially the tomato fettuccine
Dishes that have been fun to create
But the best parts are cooking with produce within its season, supporting locally grown & produced foods, and trying out the artisanal foods such as homemade breads, fresh pasta, cheeses and pastries.
