National Championship

I went a couple of weeks ago with John’s family to New Orleans to cheer on the Crimson Tide. As most of you know I am a die hard Auburn fan, but who would give up a chance to see a National Championship game in person as well as eat some incredible food? And that we did!That Saturday night we ate at Antoine’s and I had Pompano Pontchartrain (fish and lumpcrabmeat sauteed in butter) to eat which was obviously heavenly. Then Sunday morning wewent to the famous Brennan’s for breakfast – where Bananas Foster was invented – and it was divine. Another incredible thing happened on this trip, I found a store that was like a 2nd home to me. It was called Kitchen Witch and had over 9,000 cookbooks in stock- new and old. They even had a Mastering the Art of French Cooking signed by Julia Child, I already have one but thought how amazing it would be to have that one (until I saw the price $1,500)- I passed needless to say, but I did walk out with 4 cookbooks to add to my collection. I am at 54 cookbooks right now. A little excessive for most people but when I counted them up for were exactly 7 that I did not cook out of this year so I was pleased.
