Red Wine Sangria

I think before moving up to Indy I had only made Sangria once and honestly forgot about the drink entirely (obviously the recipe was that good). But when John and I ate at Barcelona Tapas our waitress told her us the basics to their recipe – which actually included boxed wine. So I toyed with the recipe a few times until I came up with the perfect concoction. Here are a few key pieces to this easy recipe though. You don’t have to use a real nice expensive wine. I always get about a $10 bottle. The other key point is to let it sit in the refrigerator for a few hours. And the best part is after you and your friends finish the pitcher you still have the wine soaked fruit to munch on.

So in honor of National Sangria Day enjoy a glass, maybe enjoy it with some Spanish Tapas or a big bowl of Fettuccine Bolognese.

Back to Basics – Fettuccine Alfredo

Thursday 1st of August 2013

[...] I think this was probably one of the first dishes I learned how to make because it was so easy. Now I did not say how often I ate it because despite the creamy and rich sauce the fettuccine bathes in, let’s be honest it is not low cal. But for that night you want to indulge a little (everyone needs to every once in a while) or a dish that takes only about 20 minutes to make, try this out! If you need another excuse it is National Fettuccine Alfredo Day!! (no joke) Pair it with Caprese Chicken or a Caprese Salad. And of course don’t for get a glass of Red Wine Sangria! [...]
