Weekends in Indy

I have always looked forward to weekends but lately since we moved up to Indianapolis when Thursday evening rolls around I get a little too giddy. Luckily I have a job where I just work Monday through Thursday so my Friday mornings start with lying in bed with our 3 dogs Hosea, Millie, and Nova (don’t tell John), drinking my chai tea, and catching up on my TV Shows. This is then preceded by a short workout and then off to breakfast or lunch. As you all know I love trying new restaurants, so lately I grab my Kindle find a new spot to eat at and relax the rest of the day. Patachou on the Park was my most recent breakfast/lunch spot. I ordered the Cuban Breakfast which was seasoned black beans and white rice, served hot with a fried egg and cheddar cheese, topped with avocado, sour cream and our spinach-jalapeño sauce. I will definitely be trying to make this soon. Yum!!!

The same day the whole crew (which normally consists of me, John, and his coworkers) got to go to the Indy 500 qualifying rounds which was a new experience for me. I love sports but racing is one that I had never really become interested in. Of course, I got really into it and learned half of the drivers names and kept up with their times. We even got to go to the pit and garage area and get up close to the cars. I hopped on over to Dario Franchitti’s garage, who ended up winning the Indy 500 and got to see his wife Ashley Judd and get her autograph. After that I decided I would definitely become an avid fan!
